The Resistol Rookie Race in the bull riding continues to heat up but even more exciting than that is the race for No. 1 in the World. The talented bull riders that grace the PRCA’s World Standings have less than $3,000 splitting the Top 3 in the World.

No. 1 Jace Trosclair, $212,965

In just the month of Septermber, Trosclair has moved from No. 5 to now leading the World Standings. He kickstarted it with a huge success at the Ellensburg Rodeo Xtreme Bulls where he cashed in over $17,000 and more recently, he added another $11,000 to his name at the Pendleton Xtreme Bulls Tour Finale.

No. 2 TJ Gray, $212,031

Gray is unofficially cinching his first trip to the Thomas and Mack. A win came his way with an 89-point ride at the Lewiston Roundup (Idaho) that was worth $6,800. He followed that up with $5,800 in Puyallup, $11,300 in Pendleton and another win, this one at the Othello PRCA Rodeo (Utah) that brought in $4,700.

No. 3 Josh Frost, $211,063

After welcoming a new baby girl, Frost has lightly hit the road to wrap up the season. He covered one bull at the Pendleton Xtreme Bulls Tour Finale and that was Fone Elvis of Sankey Pro Rodeo and Phenom Genetics’ for 79.5 points and $700.

No. 4 Hayes Weight, $194,104

Weight has won basically everywhere he’s gone in September. An 88.5-point win at the Lewiston Roundup came aboard Silver Spurs Club’s Kiss Me for $5,500 before he found himself finishing second in the Average at the Pendleton Round-Up. He cinched another win at the Lion’s Dixie Roundup (Utah) that came after an 87-point ride.

No. 5 Wacey Schalla, $180,164

Schalla hit a hot streak in July and August but September has been slow for the Oklahoma rookie. His only payday so far came after an 84.5-point ride on Desert Inn of Hi Lo ProRodeo at the New Mexico Fair and Rodeo for $550.

No. 6 Clayton Sellars, $177,366

Sellars has had a $35,000 month of September so far and majority of those earnings came from a successful trip to Ellensburg, Washington. An 89-point ride on Wayne Vold Rodeo’s Wild Bill was first in the First Round and with no qualified rides in the Finals, that put him No. 1 in the Average as well.

No. 7 Jeter Lawrence, $175,282

Another outstanding rookie from Oklahoma has piled up the pay days in Puyallup and Pendleton. Lawrence was 88 points on Bridwell Pro Rodeo’s Big Nasty to win Round 1 of his playoff in Puyallup before an 82 put him third. He left with $11,000 before pulling up to Pendleton where he cashed in another $31,848 between the Xtreme Bulls Tour Finale and the Round-Up.

No. 8 Chase Dougherty, $165,013

Dougherty came close to winning the World in 2018 and has not been back to the National Finals Rodeo since. He is gunning for it this year and in Puyallup, he added to that possibility with a $4,375 payday after riding his Playoff bull for 85 points.

No. 9 Trevor Reiste, $159,130

Winning Puyallup Rodeo and cashing in on $18,750, Reiste showed up to Pendleton with winning on his mind. Two matchups with Outlawbuckers Blue Magic, one at the Xtreme Bulls Tour Finale and one at the Round-Up, added up to almost $10,000 alone with a pair of 90-point rides. He is likely making it back to Vegas for the first time since 2017.

No. 10 Creek Young, $158,846

Young was setting himself up for a fourth NFR appearance when he broke his femur in the Playoff Round at Puyallup. That quickly brought his final month of the regular season to a close and he is looking at a four to sixth month recovery period, leaving his hopes of Las Vegas in the air.

No. 11 Cooper James, $149,674

James was another rookie to capitalize in Pendleton. He was 82 in Round 1 of the Pendleton Xtreme Bulls Tour Finale and an 87.5-point ride on Muddy Creek Pro Rodeo’s Southern Heat won him Round 2 and also he finished seventh in Round 4. All in all, James racked up over $17,000.

No. 12 Tristen Hutchings, $147,574

Although Hutchings has hit a rut, his last two paydays came by way of big rides and big wins. An 89 at the Golden Spike Rodeo (Utah) was worth over $6,500 and a 90 at the Cache County Fair and Rodeo (Utah) was good enough for $5,400.

No. 13 Trey Kimzey, $127,328

Kimsey is battling a leg injury but that did not stop him from success at both the Pendleton Xtreme Bulls Tour Finale and the Pendleton Round-Up. His highest marked ride of the week came in at 88 points to tie for second in Round 3 of the Tour Finale and it was also his highest paying ride at $4,700.

No. 14 Jake Gardner, $117,836

Gardner is riding the bubble and the possibility of his first trip to the NFR. His September has been slow with his last payday coming from the Ellensburg Xtreme Bulls after an 83.5-point ride was worth over $12,000 when added to the Average.

No. 15 Dustin Boquet, $114,129

The veteran bull rider from Louisiana is fighting hard to get back to Las Vegas after falling short and dealing with injuries the last two years. He walked away from the Pendleton Xtreme Bulls Tour Finale the Champion with over $24,000 added to his earnings.

No. 16 JR Stratford, $112,392

Stratford has only been to one rodeo in September and his last payday came in a big way at the Ellensburg Xtreme Bulls. There, the Kansas cowboy cashed in over $8,400 to keep him in the fight for the NFR.

No. 17 Jordan Spears, $112,251

Spears’ September started with a 90.5-point win that came aboard Half Cocked of Fettig Pro Rodeo at the New Mexico State Fair and Rodeo. It was a $7,200 ride that was followed up by another win at the Chelan County Fair and Rodeo (Washington).

No. 18 Tyler Bingham, $110,199

Bingham is another veteran hoping to get back to the NFR and he is right on the outside of the bubble. He placed at the New Mexico State Fair and Rodeo but more recently, a matchup with Big Bend Rodeo’s Smoke Show was enough for second and $4,000 at the Othello PRCA Rodeo.

No. 19 Luke Mast, $110,001

Mast kicked off September with a win at the Lake County Round-Up after a match up with Four Star Rodeo’s Tiger Bomb proved to be worth 79 points and $3,600. Since then, he cashed in again after he made the whistle in Round 3 of the Pendleton Xtreme Bulls Tour Finale.

No. 20 Brody Yeary, $107,185

Yeary is hoping to get his first NFR qualification and recently, two second-place finishes have kept him in the game. A $5,000 pay day came at the New Mexico Fair and Rodeo after an 86.5-point ride while a $3,000 pay day came his way at the Lion’s Dixie Roundup after an 84.
