PRCA CEO Tom Glause Talks PRCA and NFR Extension

The PRCA and Las Vegas agreed on an extension that will pay more than $250,000,000 over the next decade last week and PRCA CEO Tom Glause joined Western Sports Roundup to talk about what the extension means for the future of rodeo.

“It is very exciting, Steve. To get that put together and to announce the terms of it is really exciting for the whole industry. It will cement our future in Las Vegas and ensure the future of our sport continues to grow and our athletes continue to make more money.”

All of that money allows the richest rodeo in the world to get even richer, with Glause breaking down the NFR payments for the 2024 Finals.

“The average will pay about $88,000 and the rounds will pay $33,000 this year. That will go up every year.”

The PRCA also announced a new contract with the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo as the home of the NFR Open for years to come.

“It has been hard to attract an audience to that event, and I think we have found a home for that rodeo at Pikes Peak or Bust... it is well supported and well attended. It is a great location for contestants, families, and fans.”

The new contract with Las Vegas runs through 2035 and will feature yearly increases to the NFR payout.
