PRCA Tie-Down Roping Standings Update, June 20: Shad Mayfield Eyes Regular Season Record

Shad Mayfield is on a record pace as he looks to claim his earnings record back from 2023 World Champion Riley Webb. While he is on a torrid pace, he has plenty of competition atop the World Standings.

Here’s a look at the top 20 in the Tie-Down Roping World Standings.

1. Shad Mayfield, $142,516

Shad Mayfield is looking to recapture his regular season earnings record after Riley Webb set the new mark last year at $280,404. Mayfield is on pace to beat Webb’s record thanks to big wins at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, and the Guymon Pioneer Days Rodeo.

Of late, Mayfield added a win at the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse Frontier Days Rodeo with a 7.7-second run. The run earned Shad just over $4,000.

No. 2 Ty Harris, $97,200

Ty Harris has put together a great season thanks to getting a big win at RodeoHouston. Harris has three checks over $1,000 this month. The first came at the Eagle Rodeo where he won Round 2 to take home $1,700. Over the same weekend he posted a fifth-place finish at the Eastern Oregon Livestock Show for another $1,000. His last payday of the month came at the Livermore Rodeo where he was 8.4 seconds to win $1,550.

No. 3 Riley Webb, $91,628

Webb is coming off his first World Title and a record-breaking 2023. He is backing up his big year with a great 2024 season which has seen him capture three rodeo wins. Webb’s biggest payday of the month came at the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo in Vernal where he placed second with a time of 8.9 seconds. That run earned him just over $3,500.

No. 4 John Douch, $71,434

Douch had a great run at the end of May and the beginning of June which saw him take home five checks over $1,000. The run started at the Old Fort Days Rodeo where he placed fourth in the second round to earn $1,045. Douch’s next run came at the Mt. Pleasant Rodeo where he placed sixth to earn another $1,000. Next came two wins, the first came at Rodeo Celina with a 7.6-second run. The second win came at the Johnson Sheriffs Posse Rodeo where he was 8.3 seconds. The two wins earned him over $4,000.

No. 5 Marty Yates, $66,912

Yates has only posted three runs this month and cashed one check. The payday came at the Gladewater Round-Up Rodeo where he placed fourth with a 9.0 second run to earn $1,500.

No. 6 Joel Harris, $51,202

Harris has three checks over $1,000 this month, the first coming at the Woodward Elks Rodeo where he placed seventh with a 10.2-second run. The run earned Harris $1,770. Over the same weekend, Harris cashed a round check and an average check at the Eagle Rodeo to earn over $2,700.

No. 7 Tuf Cooper, $49,112

Cooper is looking to make his 16th career NFR and fifth World Title this year. He is currently No. 7 in the world as we enter the Summer Run. Cooper did not rodeo much during the first half of June, failing to cash a check in his three runs.

No. 8 Haven Meged, $45,980

Meged’s only substantial paycheck in June came at the Woodward Elks Rodeo where he placed third after a 9.4-second run to earn $3,200.

No. 9 Brushton Minton, $42,809

Minton has not cashed a check since the end of May when he earned $2,000 at the Santa Maria Elks Rodeo thanks to a fourth-place finish in the average.

No. 10 Chance Thiessen, $40,291

Thiessen is on a bit of a cold stretch, failing to cash a check over $1,000 in over a month. Thiessen earned $1,600 at the Santa Rosa Roundup back in mid-May with a fourth-place finish.

No. 11 Tom Crouse, $36,831

Crouse’s last payday of over $1,000 came at the beginning of the month when he placed third at the Durant Pro Rodeo after a third-place finish thanks to an 8.3-second run.

No. 12 Zack Jongbloed, $36,607

Jongbloed had a strong showing in the Pacific Northwest where he placed third in the average at the Sisters Rodeo. He placed fourth in the opening round and posted a 10.1 second in the second round to finish third in the average. In total he earned over $4,000 at the rodeo.

No. 13 Marcos Costa, $35,495

Costa has three checks over $1,200 this month, the first of which came at the Johnson County Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo where he placed second with an 8.7-second run to earn $1,400. In Gladewater he placed fifth to make another $1,200. Finally, he took second place at the Coleman PRCA Rodeo where he earned $2,300.

No. 14 Dylan Hancock, $35,026

Sisters Rodeo proved to be a lucrative stop for Hancock where he placed fourth in the average after going 19.5 seconds on two head. In total, he won over $4,600 in Oregon.

No. 15 Trevor Hale, $34,079

Hale took home the title at the Sisters Rodeo where he took the top spot in round 2 with a 7.7-second run which also won him the average after going 18.3 seconds on two. He took home over $6,000.

No. 16 Quade Hiatt, $34,079

Hiatt has jumped in the standings thanks to his last two runs. The first came at the Livermore Rodeo where he placed second after a 7.9-second run which made him $2,750. His next ride came in Vernal at the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo where he again placed second, this time with an 8.9-second run that earned him $3,500.

No. 17 Bryce Derrer, $33,650

Derrer has not cashed a check since the end of April where he placed second in a round in Clovis.

No. 18 Hunter Herrin, $33,571

Herrin’s best paycheck this month came at the Livermore Rodeo where he placed third with an 8.0-second run which made him $2,300.

No. 19 Kincade Henry, $32,630

Henry had a strong showing at the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo where he placed sixth which earned him just over $2,400 thanks to a 9.2-second run.

No. 20 Tyler Milligan, $31,309

Milligan’s only big payday of the month came at the Woodward Elks Rodeo where he placed fourth and earned $2,781.
