BY BRETT NIERENGARTEN @PRORODEOBRETT
Riley Webb has been the class of the tie-down roping all year long and the stats continue to bear that out. The second-year cowboy has more Qualified Times, Go-Round Wins and 7.5 Second or Faster Runs than any other tie-down roper in the PRCA.
Webb has a lead of $75,000 on the next closest cowboy, but the way the tie-down roping has played out the last few years, leading entering the NFR doesn’t mean as much as you may think.
In addition to Webb, there are three other cowboys who can call themselves PRCA league leaders in the tie-down roping. World No. 4 Ty Harris’ Qualified Time Percentage of 88 is better than anyone else, World No. 11 Michael Otero’s 8.56-second Average Time is nearly two seconds faster than the next closest cowboy and World No. 5 Shane Hanchey has won just as many PRCA Playoff Series Rodeos as the No. 1 man in the world.
