Puyallup Win Pushes Bareback Rider Jess Pope Inside Top 15

Jess Pope has been on the outside looking in for most of the 2024 regular season, but as he has shown before, he shows up when the pressure is on.

Pope not only got the win in Puyallup but did so in impressive fashion.

After advancing through the opening rounds with two 88-point rides, he posted a career-best and arena record 92.5-point ride in the Finals to win.

“It’s very meaningful. It was a little bit tough rodeoing this year, I didn’t draw the best, but the last four or five weeks have been really good. I’ve been on a roll.”

It is a roll that has pushed Pope inside the top 15 with just over $100,000. Pope has another big opportunity ahead with the Governer’s cup coming up later in the month.
