An injury at Sisters Rodeo in early June sidelined five-time World Champion Steer Wrestler Tyler Waguespack. The torn bicep require surgery and Wageuspack made it his goal to be back in time for the last eight weeks of the regular season and he did just that to be your Pyranha Timed Event Athlete of the Week.
Waguespack made his return during the Dodge City Roundup Rodeo. He kicked it off with a bang when he stopped the clock at 4.0-seconds to tie for second in Round 1. In the Finals, a 4.5-second run would put him fifth and the veteran bull dogger’s time on three head would be 14.5 seconds. He left Kansas with over $4,200.
The momentum stayed in his favor when he rolled into Idaho. A 3.4 would be the winning time at the War Bonnet Roundup courtesy of Waguespack. It was worth another $2,400.
His third and final paycheck came at the Douglas County Fair and Rodeo. Another $3,000 would be added to his earnings after a 3.8-second run would put him third.
Waguespack’s return means he is on the climb as he tries to capitalize on the final two months of the season. He is currently the No. 33 ranked steer wrestler in the World with his eyes on that Top 15. Waguespack is your Pyranha Timed Event Athlete of the Week.
