Louisiana’s Zack Jongbloed is on the verge of a second qualification to rodeo’s super bowl, the National Finals Rodeo. A huge week in Idaho and Washington have kept that possibility in sight for Jongbloed to be your Pyranha Timed Event Athlete of the Week.

An 8.5-second run was what put Jongbloed sixth in Round 1 and the momentum flowed from there as this was his slowest run of the Rodeo. In Round 2, Jongbloed stopped the clock at 8.2 seconds to tie for a second-place finish and cinch his spot in the Finals. The Final Round is where an 8.4 made his time on three head 25.1 seconds. The title was his and so was the $9,000 that got added to his earnings.

Jongbloed made sure to not stop there. A 9.8 at the Moses Lake Round-Up Rodeo landed him some No. 12 money while an 8.6 put him fifth at the Gooding Pro Rodeo to add another $2,700 to his name.

Jongbloed is the No. 13 ranked tie-down roper in the World with $82,683 in regular season earnings. He stays $3,000 ahead of the No. 15 man with the goal of a second NFR qualification just a few weeks away. Jongbloed is your Pryanha Timed Event Athlete of the Week.
