RECAP: Johnson County Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo was in Cleburne, Texas.

Tilden Hooper took the bareback riding with 87 points on Big Rafter Rodeo’s Minnie Pearl. Taylor Broussard and Connor Hamilton tied for 83.5 points to be second and Will Lowe’s 82 point ride got him to number four on the leaderboard.

The steer wrestling champion is Laramie Warren with 3.5 seconds. Will Lummus was 3.6 to be second and the tie for third was Chance Howard and Joe Nelson’s 3.7 seconds.

The team roping was on a two head average. In the first round Joshua Torres and Jonathan Torres were 4.3 seconds to win it. In the second round there was a tie for to win it. Cash Duty and Boogie Ray tied with Britt Smith and Jake Smith with a 3.9 second run. In the average it was Zach Kilgus and Jake Edwards who got the win with 10.1 seconds.

Riggin Smith had a great weekend winning the saddle bronc riding with 86 points on United Pro Rodeo’s Sky Fall. Chet Johnson was 83.5 and there was another tie for third with Logan Cook and Wyatt Lohman’s 82.5 point rides.

Shane Hanchey got the win in the tie-down roping with 8.0 seconds. John Douch came in second with 8.5 and Tuf Cooper took third with a 8.7 second run. Finishing fourth on the leaderboard is Shad Mayfield with a 9.1 second run.

In the barrel racing Carlee Otero is the champion after running a 14.88. Janet Staton ran a 15.17 to grab the second spot on the leaderboard and Paige Jones comes in third with a 15.18.

In the bull riding there were three qualified rides. Taking the tin is Lukasey Morris with 81 points on United Pro Rodeo’s Charlie. In second and third are Chase Dougherty with 79.5 and Zach Parker with a 77.
