The Red Bluff Round-Up is back for its 102nd installment. The Round-Up is the largest three-day rodeo in the country and there are less than 25 rodeos that have been around as long as Red Bluff. In total, athletes will be competing for more than $350,000.
The Format
The Red Bluff Round-Up is a simple format to understand. In roughstock events, the highest score on one head wins. In timed events, athletes compete in two rounds over the course of the three-day rodeo, and the fastest on two is crowned champion.
What to Watch For
Several athletes have built impressive leads in the PRCA World Standings thanks to the Texas Swing, but Red Bluff offers an immediate opportunity for those looking to make up ground post-Texas.
Here is what to watch for each night of the Red Bluff Round-Up.
Performance 1 (April 21)
As always, the Red Bluff Round-Up brings the best cowboys in the world to the same arena. On Night 1, each bareback rider competing is inside the top 50, highlighted by Jacob Lees, the No. 11 bareback rider in the world.
Saddle bronc riding features several high-ranked riders, none higher than No. 4 Chase Brooks, who already earned over $50,000 on the season.
Performance 2 (April 22)
It’s another loaded field in bareback riding on Saturday with Kaycee Feild, Cole Reiner, Garrett Shadbolt, and World No. 2 Keenan Hayes all riding.
In tie-down roping, you can watch the future of the sport and current No. 1 in the World, Riley Webb compete against No. 6 roper Shad Mayfield and No. 8 Brushton Minton.
It is going to be a fun night of bull riding with Stetson Wright highlighting the field. He will be competing against Jace Trosclair, Koby Radley, and several others inside the Top 50.
Performance 3 (April 23)
The stars are out on Sunday as World No. 1 Leighton Berry, No. 3 Rocker Steiner, 2022 World Champion Jess Pope, No. 6 Kade Sonnier, No. 8 Taylor Broussard, and No. 12 Clayton Biglow all compete in bareback riding.
In saddle bronc riding, it is a Wright family reunion as Rusty, Ryder, Statler, Spencer, Jesse, and Stuart Wright all compete. 2022 World Champion Zeke Thurston will also be riding Sunday.
In bull riding, the future Hall of Famer, Sage Kimzey is competing, and if he is able to cash a check he will enter the top 15 for the first time this season.
