Remembering Beutler & Son’s Killer Bee

On Monday, we paid tribute to Killer Bee on Western Sports Roundup

On July 10, Benny and Rhett Beutler had to say goodbye to the magnificent Killer Bee at the young age of nineteen.

After her retirement in 2022, she had a new job, and that was to raise colts. During a pregnancy difficulty Killer Bee passed on.

Her legacy will live on through her many National Finals Rodeo successes. These include the 2019 World Champion Bareback Horse, 2018 and 2019 Top Bareback Horse of the NFR, and two-time NFR Top Saddle Bronc Horse.

In 2021, her average stock score in the bareback riding was an astounding 48.63. At her last NFR in 2022, she showed up and showed out for Dawson Hay to win Round 9 with an exceptional 92-point ride. The ride will forever be remembered by competitors and fans alike.

She will be missed by not only Beutler and Son Rodeo Company but also the many great riders who had the opportunity to climb up on this legendary mare.
