On Jan. 11th, 2024 Navy Special Warfare Operator 2nd Class Nathan Gage Ingram was a part of a team conducting a night-time seizure of a vessel transporting illegal aid from Iran to Houthi rebel forces in Yemen. The seizure was conducted during a storm with brutal swells up to 8 feet high. Tragically, while conducting the mission Ingram and his teammate Special Operator 1st Class Christopher Chambers were both killed. During the mission, one SEAL member fell into the water with the other SEAL quickly jumping in to attempt to rescue his teammate, following protocol.
Ingram was a native of Roanoke, Texas and a high school graduate from Byron Nelson High School. He then graduated college from Texas Tech University. In 2019 he enlisted in the Navy and graduated with SEAL qualification in BUDS Class 346 in 2021. Gage proved while completing SEAL qualifications with spiral fractures in each leg that he would do whatever it took to be among our nation’s elite.
Ingram was humble, intelligent, and a friend to all. He made the ultimate sacrifice for his country, along with his fellow teammate Chris Chambers. Gage leaves behind the love of his life Jewel, mother, father, and sister and all are incredibly proud of him.
May we never forget the heroic service and sacrifice of Navy Special Warfare Operator 2nd Class Nathan Gage Ingram, a fellow Texan, and Navy Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Christopher Chambers.
A memorial for Ingram will be held on Feb. 10th at North West High School at 10:00 AM CST for those who would like to come out and pay their respects to our local hero.
“Fair winds and following seas, shipmates.”
