Reno Rodeo Opens Its Doors to Smaller Rodeo Committees

As a way to keep the rodeo industry growing, the Reno Rodeo has started a brand new Scalability Conference

This year the Reno Rodeo Committee hosted its very first Scalability Conference headed by Committee President Carrie Ann Sattler.

The idea for this conference came to Carrie Ann during the Wilderness Circuit Finals Regional Meeting when a group of rodeo committee members from several different rodeos came up to her asking questions about how the Reno Rodeo has gotten to where it is today.

After answering many of their questions, she felt she was often getting the reply that the rodeos felt they were not big enough for the advice she was giving them. That led her to the idea of gathering together to equip other rodeo committees with the tools they need to successfully grow their own rodeos.

The first day of the conference started out with approximately eight hours of classroom time. Going over everything from ticket sales to recruiting volunteers. There was even a special appearance made by the Creative Director of The Cowboy Channel, Karlee Peterson.

“There is nothing more powerful than taking the event experience and using it for education, it’s literally what is going to help our industry remain relevant and grow to the size that you see some of our other professional sports industries rising to,” Sattler said.

The Reno Rodeo has opened its doors to any committee that wants to learn and grow. If any committee members have questions they can reach out at renorodeo.com or email carrie@renorodeo.com.
