Weston Timberman is continuing to further his lead in the Resistol Rookie Race as he finds success in all the right places. After fighting for his place in the Short Go of the second leg of the Texas Swing, Timberman is your Resistol Rookie Athlete of the Week.
Timberman showed up in Bracket 1 of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo and picked up his first Go-Round win when he covered Cervi Brother’s King Dingaling for 84 points. He would also place fourth in Round 3 to be the No. 4 cowboy moving on the Semifinals.
In the Semifinals, his momentum would pause until the Wildcard Round rolled around. There, Timberman drew Calgary Stampede’s Twin Cherry to be 85.5 points for the win. This locked in his place in the Finals.
Aboard one of Calgary’s best, Yippee Kibitz, Timberman was 83.5 points to finish sixth in the San Antonio Short Go among a rank set of bareback veterans.
In another talented class of rookie bareback riders, Timberman’s $26,854 currently leads the way. It also has him No. 9 in the PRCA World Standings.
