Rawley Johnson is a part of a standout class of rookie bull riders in the PRCA and the Idaho cowboy is well on his way to making a name for himself. With a home state win and a strong finish in Washington, Johnson is now a three-time Resistol Rookie Athlete of the Week.

The theme was magic in Filer. Johnson matched up with Sankey Pro Rodeo and Phenom Genetics’ Magic Over Take and it would be a monster 88-point ride that would top the charts. The next closest score came from a fellow rookie, Jestyn Woodward, at 86.5 points making Johnson the Magic Valley Stampede Champion.

The win boosted Johnson’s momentum as he rolled into Ellensburg. Aboard Corey and Lange Rodeo’s Chavez, Johnson put up an 84-point score in the Long Round to tie for a fourth-place finish. Although he ended up with a no score in the Short Go, his 84 on one head was good enough to stay at No. 4 in the Average.

Johnson is closing in on the Top 30 in the PRCA Bull Riding World Standings while sitting No. 4 in the Resistol Rookie Race. This was his most successful week in the month of August and it came at the perfect time to give him a boost going into the final few weeks of the regular season. Johnson is your Resistol Rookie Athlete of the Week for the third time.
