Wacey Schalla has proven to be an undeniable force in the arena and the third week of August was no different. He is your Resistol Rookie Athlete of the Week yet again after impressive trips in both the bareback and bull riding.

An 84-point ride on Calgary Stampede’s Xceptional Margarita got Schalla in the money in Caldwell while an 87.5 on Korkow Rodeo’s Dixie’s Gravy in Gooding was enough for fifth. The biggest bareback success of the week for Schalla came in Washington at the Moses Lake Round-Up Rodeo when he matched up with Big Stone Rodeo’s Mayhem for 89 points to cash in almost $6,000.

In the bull riding, Schalla had a $15,300 week that all started with an 89-point ride at the Caldwell Night Rodeo. This would be his first of two wins and his highest payday coming in at $9,800. An 83.5 landed him fifth in Gooding before his second win of the week came in at the Cassia County Fair & Rodeo. A match up with Redline Pro Rodeo’s Horndog was worth 86 points and another trip to the Winner’s Circle.

Schalla now sits inside the Top 25 bareback riders in the World and he is the No. 3 ranked bull rider with sights set on the Thomas and Mack. For the seventh time this season, Schalla is your Resistol Rookie Athlete of the Week.
