Wacey Schalla is running away with the Resistol Rookie All-Around title while sitting inside the Top 5 in both the bareback and bull riding races. He further his success when he found a huge payday at the Silver State Stampede to be your Resistol Rookie Athlete of the Week.

In Schalla’s first event of the night, Schalla nodded his head for an eight-second match up with Frontier Rodeo’s Eagles Pass in the bareback riding. The score that would move the board was a 74.5 and although it is not the rookie’s highest score, it was good enough for a sixth-place pay day.

At the end of the night was Schalla’s second event. In the bull riding, Schalla went head-to-head with another Frontier Rodeo animal athlete, Super Trooper. The 79-point ride was worth the win and $10,000 for the Oklahoma All-Around cowboy.

Schalla still has plenty of rodeos left in his Resistol Rookie year and he is in the conversation for Las Vegas in the bull riding as he as racked up $69,580 to be ranked 20th in the PRCA World Standings. As for bareback riding, Schalla sits No. 39 in the World but No. 5 in the Rookie Race.

It is a big year for all rookies but Schalla is handling the pressure like a veteran. His win in the bull riding and sixth-place check in the bareback riding makes him your Resistol Rookie Athlete of the Week.
