Weston Timberman has been on a mission all season long and he is hanging with the big dogs while he does it. The Montana bareback rider has locked in and cashed in to be your Resistol Rookie Athlete of the Week for the fifth-time.
Timberman’s lowest score of the week came in at 78 points and was still in the money at the Jerome County Fair and Rodeo. The eight seconds on Corey and Lange Rodeo’s Bay Wars was worth $750 in a game where it potentially comes down to pennies.
An 85 on J Bar J’s Foxy Lizard would be Timberman’s second trip to the pay window of the week. This one would also be the first of two trips to his home state of Montana and came at the Northeast Montana Fair and Rodeo.
The big win of the week was at the Lea County PRCA Rodeo when Timberman matched up with Secret’s Out of Pete Carr Pro Rodeo. The two would go toe-to-toe to be 89.5 points to get the win by a point and a half over Leighton Berry. Timberman left New Mexico with over $8,000 added to his name.
A return to Montana for the second time in one week ended with another pay day. Timberman nodded aboard Cervi Championship Rodeo’s Tarzan on his home turf to get a piece of the money. He settled for an 84-point ride to cap it all off.
Timberman’s week was worth $8,000 as he looks to keep climbing the standings in the final seven weeks of the regular season. He leads the Resistol Rookie Race in the bareback riding by $48,000 and he is trailing the Top 10 in the World by $329. Timberman is once again your Resistol Rookie Athlete of the Week.
