Weston Timberman made it known this spring at the Resistol Rookie Roundup that he was most looking forward to the Pendleton Round-Up during his rookie year and the Montana bareback rider was not disappointed. He claims another Resistol Rookie Athlete of the Week title after cinching the win on the grass.
Timberman split fifth in the First Round after a match up with Outlawbuckers Night Magic was worth 84.5 points. The easily moved the cowboy into the Short Go where he drew Sankey Pro Rodeo and Phenom Genetics’ Land Of Fancy. This is the same horse that Rocker Steiner rode for 90.5 in Fort Worth and Orin Larsen rode for 89 at Cheyenne Frontier Days. Timberman would match that 89, only his would come along with the Pendleton Round-Up title.
This win was even sweeter for Timberman because he kept the family tradition of winning going after his uncle, Kelley, won the title in 2010.
Timberman is now the No. 6 ranked bareback rider in the World after hitting the pay window in Oregon and he has unofficially cinched his first ever National Finals Rodeo qualification while simultaneously cinching yet another Resistol Rookie Athlete of the Week title.
