New Mexico’s Zac Dallas continues to further his lead in the Resistol Rookie Race with impressive performances like the one he put together in Deadwood, South Dakota this past weekend. With two rounds of competition filled with the top bronc riders in the World, Dallas swept the Casey Tibbs Match of Champions Xtreme Broncs to be your Resistol Rookie Athlete of the Week.
A strong start set the pace for Dallas, he matched up with Harper & Morgan Rodeo Co’s Carolina Blue to be 88 points, two points more than any other cowboy. When the Short Round rolled around, Dallas climbed on Korkow Rodeo’s Joker Poker.
Aboard the Korkow powerhouse, Dallas made the highest marked ride of his professional career yet coming in at 89 points.
He picked up one more pay day along the way when he finished in the Top 4 of the Home of the Navajo PRCA Rodeo in Arizona. There, Dallas cashed in on more than $1,100.
Claiming both wins added almost $12,000 to Dallas’ season earnings and it bumped him up to be just outside the Top 15 in the PRCA World Saddle Bronc Riding Standings at No. 18. He leads the Reistol Rookie race by over $17,000 but it was the Casey Tibbs Match of Champions Xtreme Broncs that has added fuel to the fire.
