Weston Timberman’s rookie season resulted in what everu cowboy dreams of, a National Finals Rodeo qualification but it did not stop there. The Montana bareback rider claimed the Round 1 win in a big way.
“I came in with the confidence that no one can beat me and I just, I think it showed tonight. You know, I came here to do a job and we’ve got nine more rounds to do that job and I’m just excited for every one of them,” Timberman said.
The horse he drew for Round 1 is a horse that Timberman knew well as he has been on J Bar J’s Drunk Bunny twice before this.
“Oh yeah, that horse is so awesome. I always get along with Sparky’s horses so I knew that I would get along with him and that I liked him,” he said.
It took 87 points for Timberman to claim this Round 1 win and he was followed up by NFR rookie Bradlee Miller in second and reigning World Champion Keenan Hayes in third.
