Rocker Steiner Talks Injury & Comeback

Rocker Steiner has been sidelined for up to three months after sustaining a knee injury at Rodeo Houston.

In bareback riding, injuries are part of the game. Steiner knew that and is glad that if it had to happen, it happened now so that he can still go on the summer run. His plans are to be healthy and back by Reno Rodeo.

Steiner tore his PCL when the lower part of his left leg hit the ground. Dr. Tandy Freeman diagnosed it as a slight tear and he has recommended two to three months off, three weeks in a brace and then rehabilitation starting at one month. Steiner is hoping to heal quick and be ready to go before the three-month mark.

“I’m thinking I’m going to heal a little faster… We’re going to do everything he says and get back to it,” Steiner said.

Steiner has also had great advice from his father and grandfather, who are both World Champion cowboys, to take care of his injury and be 100% when he gets back on.

“We’re going to show up in the summer run guns blazing, just like we did in the winter. We’re going to win a lot of money and have a lot of fun and get to the big show,” Steiner said.

Steiner is currently leading the Resistol Rookie standings and sitting No. 8 in the PRCA World Standings.
