The fourth of five Super Series of RodeoHouston is here meaning that the Super Series Semifinals are close to being full. The four that advance from this Super Series will move on to those Semifinals to go up against World Champions and defending RodeoHouston Champions.
BAREBACK RIDING
Eight-time National Finals qualifier Orin Larsen is making his return to the arena after an injury sustained at the NFR in December. His first match up will be Patches of Cervi Championship Rodeo who rookie Ty Pope rode for 81 points at the National Western in January.

STEER WRESTLING
Tyler Pearson and Blake Knowles are among the eight steer wrestlers making up this bracket. Both will be looking for some redemption after not making it past their brackets in 2022 after Pearson broke out and Knowles missed his steer in Round 3.

TEAM ROPING
Riley and Brady Minor made it to the Super Shootout Championship in 2022 and they will be looking to do it again. Kolton Schmidt and Wyatt Cox roped together at Houston in 2022 and this year, they have switch partners. Schmidt is roping with Jake Minor while Cox will be heeling for Jaxson Tucker.

A big score can be expected from Ryder Wright in Round 1. He has matched up with Calgary Stampede’s Borderline Untimely who he rode for 88 points in Houston in 2022. Rookie Ryder Sanford has drawn Cervi Championship Rodeo’s Risky Business, a horse that consistently takes cowboys to the pay window.

TIE-DOWN ROPING
It is a battle of veterans in the calf roping. Shane Hanchey did not make it past his bracket in 2022, he will be gunning for checks in every round while Tuf Cooper went through to the Super Shootout Championship Round in 2022 with a third place finish.

BREAKAWAY ROPING
There is only one breakaway roper in Super Series IV that has had success at NRG Stadium before. Jordi Edens pulled a fourth-place check in Super Series III in 2022. While the Engesser sisters have not had success in Houston yet, that is all bound to change in the next three rounds.

BARREL RACING
One to watch in the barrels is Sarah Rose Waguespack. The NFR barrel racer has made a return to the arena in a big way. She has success in Fort Worth and Jackson, Mississippi and is now out in Houston on a roan horse called Ranger that looks just like her NFR mare, Bling.

BULL RIDING
The No. 4 bull rider in the World is Trey Holston and his first matchup in Houston is the Cervi Brother’s Ol’ Son. The bull is unridden this season and only had two qualified rides on him in 2022. Trey Benton III has drawn Cervi Brother’s Jack Hammer who has recently had two rides made on him.
