Utah has the roughstock end of the arena filled with winners. That continues as Tremonton’s Darien Johnson is cashing in and moving up in the Resistol Rookie Race to be your Rookie Athlete of the Week.

The momentum for Johnson started picking up at the Southeastern Livestock Show and Rodeo. He drew Frontier Rodeo’s Short Night to be in the money after an 81.5-point ride.

The momentum carried him into Texas when Johnson matched up with Pete Carr Pro Rodeo’s Chrome Molly for an 85.5-point ride at Nacogdoches Pro Rodeo. This landed him second-place money.

With almost $2,000 racked up over two rodeos, Johnson has climbed into the Top 40 in the PRCA World Standings and he sits No. 4 in the Rookie Standings with just over $2,000 between him and the No. 2 spot.
