Idaho cowboy Sage Allen is off to a hot start for his rookie season in the PRCA. He had a successful trip to the Permit Finals and Wilderness Circuit Finals and he has added to it with his many trips to the pay window in San Antonio. Allen’s wins in Frost Bank Center make him your Rookie Athlete of the Week.

Allen first nodded his head early on in San Antonio when he was out in Bracket 2. An 86.5-point ride on The Cervi Brothers’ Apple Pie would get it all started when he picked up the Round 1 win. He tied for third in Round 2 before winning Round 3 with a matchup with Calgary Stampede’s Forgetfully Nelly that was worth 88 points. Allen advanced as the No. 1 bareback rider with over $6,500 in earnings.

In the Semi-Finals, Allen drew Pickett Pro Rodeo’s Top Notch before he wound up making the Finals. Allen’s pick during the draft would be Championship Pro Rodeo’s Wild Thang. The big paint would help Allen to a whopping 90-point ride in the Finals to cinch ther $15,000 Go-Round Win.

Allen is your Rookie Athlete of the Week after leaving San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo with over $20,000 to his name.
