Five-time National Finals Rodeo saddle bronc rider Dawson Hay has officially added the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo title to his long list of accolades, bringing his total Texas Swing wins to three. Hay’s big finish at Frost Bank Center makes him your Roughstock Athlete of the Week.
Hay was up in Bracket 4 where he got it all started when he was 87 points for second-place money. It was repeated in Round 2 to the tune of 86 points but the Go-Round win finally came Hay’s way in Round 3 when he went 88 points.
In the Semi-Finals, Hay matched up with Cervi Championship Rodeo’s Redial for 85.5 points and another second-place payday. Hay advanced to the Finals with over $11,000 in earnings.
During the draft for the Finals, Hay picked the one and only Yippee Kibitz of Calgary Stampede’s. The Canadian duo would be one of two 90-point rides to top the leaderboard but when the cash was counted it was Hay who was on top.
Cinching the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo win has moved Hay to the No. 3 spot in the World and he is your Roughstock Athlete of the Week.
