Stetson Wright was about $34,000 out of the No. 1 spot in the bull riding a month ago, but his big deficit has not lasted long.
The reigning World Champion is now within $10,000 of Ky Hamilton as he cleared the six-figure mark over the weekend by pocketing just over $17,000 at the Cactus Jack Xtreme Bulls in Uvalde.
Wright was one of just two cowboys to cover all three bulls and he wasn’t marked below 86.5 on a single ride. Wright was 12 points of clear of Jestyn Woodward to win the Average.
Since April 27, Wright is 6-of-7 with two 90-point rides.
For the season, he has ridden 67 percent of his bulls for an average score of more than 86 points.
