Home state cowboy Tristan Mize is making sure to capitalize in San Antonio in all the right ways. He placed in the first two go-rounds of Bracket 4 before winning Round 3 at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo to be your Roughstock Athlete of the Week.
Mize’s first trip at Frost Bank Center was with a bull called Hot Rocks. The two put up a score of 86.5 points to land Mize his first second-place check worth $2,100. In Round 2, second-place money would come his way again, this time with an 80-point ride on Dim Tricks of The Cervi Brothers.
Mize’s Round 3 win would be what pushed him higher in the money than anyone else. He would ride Diamond G Rodeo’s Adam’s Monkey to be the only qualified ride of the night. The 86-point ride was worth $7,300 bringing Mize’s total earnings in Bracket 4 to almost $12,000.
