Louisiana’s Rowdy Parrott was a two-time consecutive National Finals Rodeo steer wrestler who just missed a third trip in 2023. His season in 2024 turned into a rebound year when he was the No. 9 ranked steer wrestler in the World come September 30.
Parrott’s regular season earnings surpassed the six-figure mark and he is headed back to the Thomas & Mack.
Walker County Fair and Pro Rodeo $1,820
Parrott made on Texas Swing final and then got a win in Texas at the end of March. In Huntsville, he stopped the clock at 4.1 seconds.
He finished the month the same way he started it, with a victory in Texas. He was also the champion in Bay City on March 2 thanks to a 3.9.
Snake River Stampede, $7,823
After Parrott’s season slowed down, he picked up steam come July. Parrott made runs of 4.1 and 4.2 seconds before he won the Finals witha blistering 3.3-second run, his fastest of the season. With a time of 11.6 on three head, Parrott left Idaho as the Champion. He won the Average over Cody Devers by seven tenths of a second.
Ogden Pioneer Days, $4,286
Four days after his win at the Snake River Stampede, Parrott’s second fastest time of the season came in Utah. During Round 2, he stopped the clock 3.4 seconds to finish No. 2 in the Round just behind Jacob Edler. He also added another $5,700 in Utah the same weekend with a sixth place finish in the Average in Spanish Fork.
Canby Rodeo, $5,952
An Oregon rodeo brought the Louisiana man his next win and only PRCA Playoff Series win of the season. With a 3.9 putting him second in Round 1, Parrott doubled down to be even faster in Round 2 with a 3.8 to split the Go-Round win. He would be 7.7 on two head to split the title with Gavin Soileau.
Cinch Playoffs Puyallup, $11,906
Parrott entered the final month of the season No. 18 in the World Standings, but then picked up his two biggest paydays of the season at the two Cinch Playoff events. Parrott would be one of four 4.6-second runs to win the Second Performance to advance. From there, he was 4.2 in the Semifinals before a 4.1 in the Finals earned him second-place money.
The win instantly shot him into the Top 10.
Cinch Playoffs Governor’s Cup, $11,861
The rebound season came down to the final weekend of September. In Sioux Falls, Parrott clocked a 4.3 in the First Round before he was 4.0 in the Second. He was the No. 2 cowboy to advance before a 5.9-second run in the Eight-Man Round was his last trip to the pay window in the regular season.
