Ryan Dirteater Makes Big Announcement

Ryan Dirteater is a 12 time PBR World Finals qualifier who thought he retired at the end of 2020. On April 14, he turned 33 years old and announced that he was coming out of retirement for one more season. Dirteater will be giving bull riding one last go in the PBR Team Series.

“It starts in July, I’ve been training, I’ve been working hard and I really just can’t wait. I’m excited and ready to go back at it,” Dirteater said.

Dirteater has been over 90 points 16 different times throughout his entire career including a 92.75 point ride that he made in Las Vegas in 2020 on Hart Cattle’s Smooth Over. Dirteater says watching that video was motivating and he is mentally ready and physically, his body feels good.

“You just got to climb in the chute and nod your head, I really just can’t wait,” he said.

The PBR Team Series is an 11 event season, it starts during the Cheyenne Frontier Days. The draft to fill the eight teams takes place after the PBR World Finals in Fort Worth, Texas in May.
