Ryder Wight Goes Big in Round 4 to Cinch the Win and Set a New Round Record

Saddle bronc rider Ryder Wright stays at the top.

World Champion Ryder Wright conquered the Elimination Pen in Round 4 after a match up with Championship Pro Rodeo’s Tickled Pink went in his favor.

“I had to just throw caution to the wind and keep throwing my feet and stay back and lift. You know, don’t leave nothing out there. I had to really gas it on that horse, he’s super droppy and picks his head up the whole time so you really have to gas it on that one,” Wright said.

The 90.5-point ride topped the leaderboard by three points but it did not stop there. By half a point, Wright took over the Round 4 record from his uncle, Jesse, and Jesse Kruse who had the bar at 90. It was an exciting ride for Wright and it brought more emotion than we are used to seeing from the legacy bronc rider.

“It’s hard to hide your emotions in this building. I’m glad this is where I bring them out,” he said.

Wyatt Casper and Lefty Holman rounded out the Top 3 in Round 4 while this win also bumped Wright to No. 1 in the World. He now sits $14,000 ahead of Damian Brennan in the World Standings.
