Ryder Wright Moves on to Cheyenne Semifinals With 87 Points on Thursday Afternoon

Wright is looking to make the Finals in Cheyenne for the first time since a second-place finish

Ryder Wright has not been to the Finals in Cheyenne since a second place finish to his brother Stetson in 2021. On Thursday afternoon, he took the crucial first step to get back there by winning Performance 6 with 87 points on Summit Pro Rodeo’s Wandering Witch.

“I knew (Wandering Witch) was going out there and be awesome,” he said. “I knew if I did my part, it’d work out.”

Wright is currently No. 6 in the World, but a win would put him within about $40,000 of World No. 1 Damian Brennan and have him knocking on the door of the Top 5.

“Every dollar counts toward that Gold Buckle,” he said. “So we’ll take all of them we can get.”
