Ryder Wright will miss a few weeks after breaking multiple ribs in the chutes prior to his Round 2 ride in Reno.
Wright was matched up against Big Bend Rodeo’s Crash Gate, who reared in the chutes and pinned briefly pinned Wright against the rightside of the chute as the gate opened.
In true cowboy fashion, Wright made the whistle and was marked 75.5 points.
Ryder is the second Wright brother to announce injury news in the last week as his brother Rusty announced he would miss time due to leg surgery six days ago.
Ryder has accumulated $71,619 this season and ranks No. 5 in the PRCA World Standings, so his eighth straight NFR qualification is very much still in play.
