Saddle Bronc Rider Jake Finlay Picks Up the Pendleton Round-Up Win in Touching Fashion

The Australian native paid homage to those that helped him get here

For the third year in a row, the win at the Pendleton Round-Up in the Saddle Bronc Riding has come aboard World Champion bucking horse The Black Tie of Sankey Pro Rodeo and Phenom Genetics.

Jake Finlay was the cowboy whose name was beside the big bay on Saturday and the duo topped the charts.

“This is huge for me. I don’t have words right now. I’ve got an incredible support system, my lovely wife right there. But that win right there was for Witch Holman,” Finlay said.

A 91-point ride came after a rank eight seconds and a pair of 89s would be the next closest to Finlay courtesy of Zeke Thurston and Brody Cress.

Finlay ultimately won the Average with 176.5 points on two and banked $13,076 to go from No. 29 to No. 22 in the PRCA World Standings.
