Saddle Bronc Rider Sterling Crawley Comes Back from Wreck and Goes to No. 3 in the Average in Denver

Sterling Crawley was kicked in the face by The Cervi Brothers’ Hot Mess during the dismount of an 80 point ride in his first round, but that did not deter him from coming back later that night. In fact, he was even better in the evening performance, riding Big Rafter’s Cheap Sunglasses for 84 points to climb to No. 3 in the saddle bronc riding Average at the National Western.

“That ol girl is just getting better and better with age,” he said of Cheap Sunglasses. “She put on a few hundred pounds since the last time I had her, she’s a little bit stronger and she’s still doing her job.”

Crawley trails CoBurn Bradshaw (167 points) and Dawson Hay (165.5) in the Average.
