It was two legends battling it out last night at the Spanish Fork Fiesta Days XTreme Bulls. Sage Kimzey and JB Mauney tied at the top of the leaderboard, both posting 91 point rides and earning $11,023.

Kimzey got the night started in the first section with a 91 point ride on Powder River Rodeo’s Top Shelf, a bull he had never ridden before.

After the ride, he told ProRodeo.com, “I was excited to have him. The bull really bucked around to the left. He had me moving and working the whole time. I never had a really great seat on him, but it was all good.”

Mauney wouldn’t be outdone and answered with a 91-point ride of his own on Powder River Rodeo’s Flight Risk in section two.

After his ride, Mauney told The Cowboy Channel’s Kirbe Schnoor, “That was the third time I got on him, I guess they say third time is the charm. He bucked me off pretty fast the first two times I got on him. I needed to get a little revenge.”

With the win, Sage Kimzey is now the all-time leader in PRCA Xtreme Bulls Division 1 victories with nine. He broke his tie with Matt Austin for Career wins on Tuesday night.

Sage was also able to add to his lead in the World Standings, now with $141,144 earned on the season.

Mauney entered the event in fifth place in the standings and now finds himself in fourth place with $88,866 earned on the year.
