Sage Kimzey enters Wrangler NFR No. 1 in PRCA Bull Riding World Standings

Six-time PRCA Bull Riding World Champion Sage Kimzey enters the Wrangler NFR in a familiar spot this year, No. 1 and the man to beat in Las Vegas.

After finishing fifth in the world in 2020, the first time he didn’t win the World Title in his professional career, Kimzey racked up $264,739 and will arrive at the Thomas&Mack Center in December with a lead of over $60,000 on second-place Stetson Wright and $117,000 on No. 3 Clayton Sellars.

After riding 54 and 47 percent of his bulls in 2019 and 2020, Kimzey rebounded with a 62 percent riding percentage in 2021 and 84.45 points per qualified ride, the second-highest mark of his career. Kimzey was aided by nine rides of 90 points or more, besting his previous career-high of seven in 2019.

In addition to finishing first in the PRCA World Standings, Kimzey was also first in the PRCA Xtreme Bulls Standings. He earned $102,861 total in X Bulls events and won four of them, the next closest cowboy in the PRCA Xtreme Bulls Standings was Clayton Sellars with $68,810.
