Sage Newman after winning the saddle bronc riding on Day 3 of Calgary Stampede

Sage Newman has been the top cowboy in the saddle bronc riding on two of the first three days of the Calgary Stampede.

The Montana cowboy was 90 points on Sunday afternoon atop Business Girl.

“Just a young horse, he had a great day and I tried to spur ‘em as good as it could and it all worked out,” Newman said. “I’ve been lucky to draw good all week......I am happy to be where I’m at right now.”

Newman won a third-place check on Day 2 of the rodeo, giving him $14,000 through three days to lead Pool A.
