Sage Newman Backs Up Number One Ranking with Win in Clovis

Sage Newman entered Clovis as the number one Saddle Bronc rider in the world and proved the ranking was no fluke. Newman now has a $20,000 lead over Stetson Wright who is currently in second place.

Newman was marked 84.5 points on his initial ride but was given a reride option which he would take full advantage of by going 90 points to win the rodeo.

“I got to get on Rev Runner and I’ve had him before, I had him in Denver and he was really good there I won the round there so I decided to take it and it all worked out.”

Newman took a moment to take it all in after winning the rodeo, “This rodeo in Clovis, you can’t beat it. We are out in the sunshine having fun it’s a blast. I’m happy to be here.”

Newman knows where he is in the world standings, but doesn’t let the number by his name affect how he rides.

“I am just trying to keep things rolling. I am healthy and having fun.”
