After a no time in Round 1, Dustin Egusquiza and Levi Lord made sure to bounce back like the champions that they are. They shut the clock off at 5.5 to be third in Round 2 and cinch their place on Championship Sunday.
“We were third out right there so we kind of got to see a little bit of what was going to happen and what we needed to do and that’s always an advantage in this sport. And what an awesome rodeo and awesome venue here at Petco Park and just very blessed to have the opportunity to be here and win this thing,” Egusquiza said.
It was a 4.0-second run in the Four-Man that locked in the title but it was an even sweeter win for both of them as Egusquiza and Lord backed into the box on new horses.
“He does such a good job and he makes my job pretty easy. We both have new horses out here that have been doing great for us and like he said this is a great venue. Anytime we can rope in front of fans like this in a place like this, rodeo is coming a long ways so it’s pretty cool to seem” Lord said.
