Sarah Angelone Wins Two of Three Bracket 5 Rounds to Move on in San Antonio

Breakaway roper Sarah Angelone finds success at Frost Bank Center.

Sarah Angelone capitalized in Round 1 with a quick 1.9-second run to split the go-round win but she bested herself when she roped a wicked 1.7 to win Round 3.

“You know, I just wanted to get out and catch tonight. I knew if I placed, I’d probably make it back so that was the game plan. I don’t know why I threw that fast but I’m glad it worked,” Angelone said.

While throwing down for the win, Angelone showed just how much comradery is in the sport of rodeo when she helped the other breakaway ropers gunning for that No. 1 spot as well.

The Semi-Finals bound breakaway ropers from Bracket 5 include Angelone, JJ Hampton, Beau Peterson and Hali Williams.
