Scott Guenthner will be making his fourth trip to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. He will be returning after missing the 2020 Wrangler NFR in Arlington, Texas.

He finished No. 6 in the world in 2017 and No. 5 in 2018, falling just short of a Gold Buckle.

The Provost, Alberta cowboy is going into this year’s NFR ranked No. 7 in the PRCA World Standings.

SCOTT GUENTHNER AMERICAN SEMI FINALS 3.71

Guenthner got his 2021 season rolling at the Montana Pro Rodeo Circuit Finals back in January where he took home $2,225 and the average title.

His next big paycheck came at the largest one-day rodeo in the world, The American. Guenthner won the 16-man round with a 4.0 second run on the Nutrena Horse of the Year, Tyson, who belongs to fellow steer wrestler Curtis Cassidy. Guenthner added $3,000 to his earnings that day.

SCOTT GUENTHNER RAM NATIONAL CIRCUIT FINALS 4.5

At the Ram National Circuit Finals, Guenthner placed in all four rounds with all runs clocking in under 5.0 seconds. A 4.4 in round one, a 4.9 in round 2, another 4.4 in round 3 earned Guenthner $6,738. His fastest run of the RNCFR came in the final round with a 3.6 second run and it added $6,195 to his total.

In Clovis, California, Guenthner placed in three of the four rounds. A pair of 4.1s and a 4.3 sent him home with $3,212.

SCOTT GUENTHNER CLOVIS RODEO 4.0

Guenthner got to make a trip to his home country of Canada where he won round three of his pool with a 5.1 but before he headed north, he picked up nice checks at the Belt PRCA Rodeo (Montana), West of the Pecos Rodeo (Texas) and the Greeley Stampede (Colorado). Between those three rodeos, Guenthner added $4,571 to 2021 season earnings.

At the end of the season Guenthner hit a hot streak in the northern states. At the Kitsap Stampede (Washington), he was a 3.9 to be third and win almost $2,798. He went onto the Gem State Stampede (Idaho) where he won $2,294 after being a 4.1 to be second. He topped it off with the Magic Valley Stampede (Idaho) and a 3.8 to be third and collect $3,553.

Guenthner has placed in 12 NFR rounds and he has won two. He is behind No. 1 Jacob Talley ($117,256) by $42,303 but at the Wrangler NFR, $40,000 is not much.
