Scott Guenthner Takes Opening Round of Canadian Finals Rodeo

Scott Guenthner is looking to add another Canadian Title to his resume. His 2024 CFR got off to a great start after a 3.8-second run in the opening round to get the win.

Guenthner drew a steer he knew was a bit slow out of the gate, but his trust in his horse allowed him to adjust on the fly.

“I know I can pull on Tyson and he will push his way through and it works out every time. The steer was supposed to be a tick behind the pace.”

Once he got ahold of him, Guenthner returned to the basics to stop the clock in under four seconds.

“I just tried to keep up with my feet. I got a little lower on him than I wanted to.”
