Senator Cynthia Lummis has a long and deep rooted history with Cheyenne Frontier Days. It all began in 1897 when her great-grandfather became the first ever treasurer of the Cheyenne Frontier Days committee.
Many members of Senator Lummis’s family have played a role in the preservation of this iconic event including her mother who helped found the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum.
Not only was her family deeply involved but Senator Lummis was as well as she was crowned Miss Frontier in 1976 by Roy Rogers and Dale Evans.
Along with Senator Lummis’s great fondness for Cheyenne Frontier Days, she also heavily believes in the importance of Rural America and the agricultural heritage. Senator Lummis shows her admiration for the Western way of life as she continues to support Resolution 712 as it recognizes the need for greater access to rural and agricultural media programming.
