Shad Mayfield dominates final two performances of Pool B in the tie-down roping

Shad Mayfield recorded the fastest tie-down roping time of the season on Day 4 in Calgary when he was 6.5 seconds to win the $5,500 check on Friday.

Mayfield was first on each of the last two days and second on Day 3 to collect $15,500 to win the pool. All three of Mayfield’s money-winning times were 7.2 seconds or faster.

“Everything feels great, I got real comfortable in this arena, it’s really my setup,” he said. “It’s just like the runs of been making at home with my dad in the practice pen.”

The other three ropers advancing from Pool B are Justin Smith ($12,500), Cody Craig ($11,000) and Erik Dublanko ($10,000).
