Shelby Boisjoli-Meged Wins the Breakaway Roping During the Year of the Cowgirl in Cheyenne

The reigning World Champion is winning big checks and shiny buckles in Cheyenne

Shelby Boisjoli-Meged made history on Championship Sunday winning the breakaway title at the Daddy of ‘Em All for the first time.

The No. 5 ranked cowgirl aboard her equine talent, Onna, stopped the clock with a speedy 3.7-second run. In addition to new hardware, the two added over $16,000 to their World Standings purse.

Although the talent has won her fair share of saddles, buckles, and titles, Biosjoli-Meged remains a humble character.

“I just want to be grateful and be somebody who younger girls look up to” Boisjoli-Meged said.

She truly has the heart of a cowgirl and the mind of a champion.
