Shelley Morgan and Kiss ran a tight pattern in Greeley during the Short Go and it paid off. Morgan ran one of the fastest times of the entire rodeo, won the Short Go and the average to become the newest Greeley Stampede Barrel Racing Champion.
“[Kiss] was definitely cutting it close. I knew she was running, she was a little frisky tonight in warm up so we knew she had it on her mind but I just kind of released her and she skimmed those barrels, I’m sure we have paint on our jeans,” Morgan laughed.
Morgan’s strategy is to keep Kiss away from the action until it is their turn and then they go make their run. They stopped the clock at 16.39 in the Short Go with Jordon Briggs and Rollo being the next closest time at a 16.54.
