Sixteen-Year-Old Aubrey Ross Heads Into First Canadian Finals Rodeo at No. 1

At just sixteen years old, breakaway roper Aubrey Ross is headed to her first Canadian Finals Rodeo to compete for the top spot in the Average as she currently sits No. 1 in the Canadian Standings.

Some of the best in the world will be competing in Alberta including No. 1 cowgirl in the WPRA World Standings Shelby Boisjoli as well as her sister, Makayla.

As Ross leads by just $795, her good friend Jenna Dallyn trails close behind at No. 2 with $20,314 in earnings.

“She’s always been super competitive and awesome to compete with. She’s always been very kind to me and she’s great to be around,” Ross said about fellow Canadian cowgirl.

Great competition continues to drive Ross and push her to be better throughout her young career as she not only excels in the breakaway roping but also clinched the No. 10 spot in the team roping at the National High School Finals alongside her brother, Denim.

“I always have loved being a multiple event girl and being able to rope with my brother is pretty great.”

With just three Go-Rounds to get the job done in the breakaway roping at the CFR, Ross’s strategy remains the same as she focuses on consistency and getting the job done.
