Jacob Talley earned his way into the NFR Open through a successful Southeastern Circuit Finals and on Day 1 in Colorado Springs, the five-time National Finals Rodeo bulldogger threw down a 3.8 to set a rapid pace.
“It’s key. It’s a big moment but we’re just going to run them one day at a time and try and win the day we’re up and then we’ll just let it happen,” Talley said.
One thing Talley has going for him his the horsepower provided by Justin Shaffer. Being comfortable when you back into the box can be a weapon in a set up like the NFR Open where success can propel you to a big payday.
Fenton Nelson’s 4.6 was the second fastest time in Performance 1 with Dalton Massey coming in third.
