Steer Wrestler Justin Shaffer’s Road to His First National Finals Rodeo in 2024

The 1x NFR Qualifier is looking to do it again in 2025.

Steer Wrestler, Justin Shaffer, had an impressive 2024 season, qualifying for his first-ever National Finals Rodeo. Now, with a strong start to the 2025 season, he’s determined to keep that momentum going.

Currently ranked No. 9 in the World Standing and already having earned over $29,000 this year, Shaffer is positioned well heading into the summer rodeo run.

“It was up and down for a long time,” Shaffer said, “They all say I always bulldogged well enough to make it, I just had to figure out my head to get here...this was the year we did it.”

Shaffer shares how everything came together in 2024 with the help of his family, traveling partners, and the horsepower under him. He also explains how he plans to carry his success from last year over to the 2025 season.

“Self-belief for me is knowing my run was good enough and looking forward to the next steer instead of dwelling on the last one.”
