Jacob Edler kicked things into gear in Round Six of the steer wrestling at the Wrangler NFR by splitting the round with a 3.3-second bulldogging run to share the victory lap with Stetson Jorgensen, a cowboy he was neck-and-neck with for the Gold Buckle. The two men notched their times on the same horse, Mable.
Edler would go on to win the World Championship and the average on Mable with Jorgensen right behind him in second in both. Jorgensen says there was no hesitation when Edler asked to get on the former race horse owned by Garrett Henry.
“I wanted to somebody to ride her all 10 days, when he asked there was no hesitation at all,” Jorgensen said. “Two guys on her at the Finals, I think she works better.”
“We were just blessed beyond belief to be there,” Henry added. “She proved that she was the best in the world that week, for sure.”
